Description

With the support of ESA and BELSPO, B.USOC is organizing a public event in Brussels to witness the final deactivation of SOLAR and to share memories with all actors involved in the adventure.

SOLAR is an external payload facility on the Columbus Laboratory dedicated to the Sun monitoring and hosting three instruments: SOVIM, SOLSPEC and SOL-ACES. SOLAR was launched on February 2008 aboard the Space Shuttle Atlantis in the frame of mission STS-122 that has delivered the Columbus Laboratory to the International Space Station.
