DESCRIPTION:BackgroundThe "Precursors for aerosols and ozone " project is
developing long-term climate data records of the GCOS Precursors for Aeros
ol and Ozone Essential Climate Variable. Precursors include the short-live
d atmospheric trace gases: nitrogen dioxide (NO2)\, sulphur dioxide (SO2)\
, carbon monoxide (CO)\, formaldehyde (HCHO)\, and ammonia (NH3). Working
in close liaison with climate data users\, the project focuses on building
consistent/harmonised long term multi-satellite mission climate data reco
 rds from satellite instruments including GOME\, SCIAMACHY\, GOME-2\, OMI\,
  TROPOMI\, IASI\, and MOPITT.Workshop objectivesThe purpose of ESA’s EC
V Precursor CCI User Workshop is to enhance the visibility\, accessibilit
y\, and impact of satellite dataproducts for research and applications in
air quality\, climate change\, and health. The key objectives of the wor
kshop are to:Inform users by providing insights into the strengths\, limit
ations\, and potential applications of ECV Precursor project data products
.Engage with the chemistry-climate community to gather valuable user feedb
ack\, ensuring that future data developments align with scientific and ope
rational needs. Why attend? This workshop is a unique opportunity to:Gain in
sights into the strengths\, limitations\, and applications of ECV Precurso
r satellite data products developed under ESA’s Climate Change Initiativ
 e programme\, specifically NO2\, HCHO\, CHOCHO\, SO2\, CO and NH3Engage di
rectly with data providers and fellow researchers in the chemistry-climate
community.Share your feedback to help shape the development of future dat
a products tailored to your needs.Collaborate with leading scientists and
decision-makers to maximize the impact of satellite data in environmental
research and policy.Your expertise and input are invaluable in ensuring th
at these data products serve the scientific community effectively. Don’t
miss this chance to contribute\, connect and innovate!\n\nhttps://events.
