The current climate change poses many challenges for society. More than ever, we need to understand this change in all its aspects and to implement solutions to face it.
The Climate Centre is a federal entity that aims to bring together and strengthen the climate research resources in Belgium and to establish structural cooperation between universities and research centers and provide tools for decision makers. Its objective is to become a reference center for climate research in Europe.
Secretary of State Thomas Dermine, in collaboration with the Federal Science Institutes and the Federal Science Policy (Belspo), invites you to attend the opening of the Climate Centre on 29 November 2022 at 10 a.m. in the presence of Mr Bertrand Piccard as special guest. Given the central importance of the climate for society, personalities from the scientific, political and economic world in Belgium will also be invited.
During this inauguration event, you will have the opportunity to meet the two future directors of the Climate Centre, Prof Dr Valerie Trouet and Dr Ella Jamsin, to visit the newly renovated offices and to discover a selection of climate-related research projects. Please note that this event is by invitation only, which should not be distributed to third parties.
If you wish to attend, please confirm your participation by registering on this event page before October 28th.
We look forward to seeing you on November 29!
