SIDC Turns 45 — Time to reconnect! 🚀

Dear former SIDC colleague,

Believe it or not, SIDC is turning 45. The SIDC Retrospective Meeting is taking shape nicely, and we would love for you to be part of it. You can find all the details here:
https://events.spacepole.be/event/275/

If you click on “Contribution List” in the left-hand menu, you’ll already see a growing list of familiar names who have confirmed their presence. The reunion is clearly gaining momentum — don’t let the others have all the fun!

We warmly invite you to:

Register for the meeting

Propose a contribution (see “Call for Abstracts”)

And before you panic: we are not exclusively looking for hardcore scientific or highly technical presentations. Of course, those are welcome — but so are reflections on how your SIDC days shaped your current life and career. In fact, contributions don’t even have to be talks. Are you a musician? Do you have legendary old photos hidden in a drawer? A story that deserves to be told? Bring it on. Creativity is encouraged.

The draft Scientific Program & Timetable shows sessions running from Wednesday afternoon (June 3) through Friday (June 5). For some, this may be a full three-day mission. For others, a brief fly-by visit. We completely understand — scheduling will be flexible, and we’ll happily accommodate your availability.

Most importantly, this meeting will be a unique opportunity to reconnect, celebrate, and look back at what we built together at ROB/SIDC — and what you went on to build afterwards.

We are truly looking forward to seeing you again.

In short:

Please register if/when you plan to attend

Please consider proposing a talk or other contribution

Please start looking for those old photos 😊

Warm regards,

The SIDC2026 Organising Committee
