The Belgian National Committee for Geodesy and Geophysics (BNCGG) organizes a study day on the theme ‘Earth Sciences in a Changing World’ on Friday 4 November 2022 at the Palace of the Academies of the Royal Academy of Science, Letters, and Fine Arts of Belgium in Brussels.

The study day aims at bringing together the Belgian scientific community active in Earth Sciences and on presenting ongoing activities in themes covered by the eight associations of the International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics (IUGG):

Cryospheric Sciences (IACS)
Geodesy (IAG)
Geomagnetism and Aeronomy (IAGA)
Hydrological Sciences (IAHS)
Meteorology and Atmospheric Sciences (IAMAS)
Physical Sciences of the Oceans (IAPSO)
Seismology and Physics of the Earth's Interior (IASPEI)
Volcanology and Chemistry of the Earth's Interior (IAVCEI)

The programme will include invited lectures by international personalities and on highlights of Belgian contributions to international programmes in each of the eight associations. Posters on ongoing research in Earth Sciences at Belgian institutions will be on display for the entire day, with authors in attendance during the late morning and the late afternoon. We especially encourage PhD students and postdocs to participate in the event.

Abstracts for poster presentations on any theme covered by IUGG associations can be submitted via the conference website https://events.spacepole.be/event/145/ by the deadline of 15 September 2022

The call for abstracts is closed.
