Accommodation

The observatory is located in the southern part of Brussels called Ukkel/Uccle and is better known for its nice houses and  embassies than for touristic attractions. There is only one hotel near the observatory.

Best Western County House of Brussels (Heldenplein/Square des Héros 2-4)

Access to venue by public transport (also see the tab Travel Information in the main menu)

  • go to bus stop "Héros/Helden" (De Frélaan/Avenue de Fré; 50m from the hotel), take bus 43 (direction Observatoire/Sterrenwacht) and get off at the final stop "Observatoire/Sterrenwacht". This journey takes <10 minutes; walking will take about 30 minutes. <overview of "Héros/Helden">
  • The advantage of this hotel is that it also connect quite well to the city center (and Brussels-South/Midi railway station) by Tram 4.

Alternatively, you can book a hotel further away and use public transport that passes close to the observatory.

The observatory is served directly by Bus #60 and #43. The stop is called "Observatoire/Sterrenwacht" and for B43 it is the endpoint (and departure point).

B43 connects to Trams 4 (T4) and T92 at the stop "Helden/Héros"

B60 connects to T3. B60 stops at "Cavell" an then its a 5 min walk to "Churchill" where T3 departs.

Below there are some hotels located further away but that connect reasonably well to the Observatory by bus or  tram.

Near the Brussels-Midi train station (T4):

Pullman Brussels Center Midi, Hotel Ibis Brussels Midi, Novotel Brussels Center Midi

Along the Tram 92 line:

Hotel Ibis Styles Centre Stéphanie (T92 stop "Faider" ), Hotel Catalonia Brussels (T92 stop "Ma Campagne" )
