Description

Abstract:  It's a user-friendly portal/gateway which is bundled with multi-Earth observations in which the visualizations are categorized in form of Earth Indicators, Natural Hazards, Environmental Threats, Ecosystem Health and Monitoring Climate. This web app is loaded with 18 Earth Indicators, 18 Geo Maps, 12 Earth Engine Apps, 18 Infographic Data Analysis in Tableau followed by 09 Quizzes based on various climate change factors. This app provides an opportunity to explore multi EO at one place resulting into focused study and creates awareness as well. Severe climate is leading to unavoidable disasters in future hence it's must to understand and call for actions towards saving the planet. The main objective of this study is to develop a capacity building resource that would help the citizens to understand the current facts/forecast of climate change & its impacts.

Objective: The main objective is to create a user-friendly virtual gateway of capacity-building resources that will help professionals of all levels and disciplines to find the training they need to apply EO. This interactive portal is for users/community those who want to search, view, explore, analyze and share the tools and resources from one common platform instead of training themselves from various other websites.

Key Features & Benefits of App:

Developed an online portal/gateway in which various 18 Earth observations are enlisted alongwith detailed data analysis in Tableau supported by instant visualization in ARCGIS Geo maps.
A set of 12 Earth Engine apps are provided with ideology of “Explore it by Yourself”.
It’s a user-friendly gateway in which navigation is developed in much simplified manner so that users may find it convenient while navigating through various earth observations.
Creates opportunity to explore the multi EO at one place resulting into focused study & trainings & time saviour as well.
Eye catchy climate dashboard addresses the climate severity in a very interactive manner.
Visualization & Infographic learning method is most productive and it’s been put in use.
A very strong tool to create awareness about climatic conditions and demands attention.
An interactive 09 quiz set based on climate factors is being tagged to project in order to engage the public/audience and offers an opportunity to test their knowledge with scores achieved.

What does it do?

Knowing is half the battle. This indigenous app is able to depict true picture of various Earth Observation models in near to real time duly supported by the databases published in public domain by NASA/JAXA/ESA/ESRI.

In this web app Disasters/Hazards can be visualized in form of Geo maps along with respective data information/analysis fetched by various API’s from GIS community. Some of the Earth indicators are also equipped with forecasted information as well, in order to ensure public safety.

Conclusion:

Global warming is the most crucial existential problem of our age, which requires significant societal changes to mitigate it. Although we have been raising public awareness on climate change for years, this is not enough; the global temperature increases day by day.
