Description

The aurora, as a captivating and visually stunning phenomenon, provides a unique opportunity to engage the public with space weather science. Within the ESWAN group, we have been reviewing various online tools that can enhance the scientific community's outreach efforts, enabling more effective communication of space weather concepts to diverse audiences. These tools range from webinar platforms and interactive game applications to data visualization tools.

In our poster, we aim to present a selection of these online tools, demonstrating how they can be used to enhance public understanding of space weather, with a particular focus on the aurora. By using the aurora as a case study, we will showcase how these digital tools can serve as bridges between complex scientific concepts and public engagement. The poster presentation will be interactive; through QR codes, viewers will be able to access the tools and auroral examples we have prepared. They can try them themselves, engaging with quizzes, interactive infographics and games on the aurora. The poster will help scientists discover tools that can enhance their own outreach activities and facilitate more effective communication with their audiences.
