Description

The May 2024 solar storm was produced by a sequence of closely timed coronal mass ejections (CMEs) from the same active region. Identifying their individual interplanetary counterparts (ICMEs) is far to be an easy task but is crucial to go ahead in the forecasting scheme. This study aims to explain the interplanetary data and to track the evolution of the ICMEs taking advantage of the availability of in-situ data from STEREO-A and WIND. During this event, these spacecrafts were located at heliocentric distances 0.96 and 1AU, respectively, with a longitudinal separation of 12.5º, providing an excellent opportunity to study the evolution of individual ICMEs and the interaction among them.
